Mobile AI Value Sprint 2027

Design Your AI-Native Customer Growth Engine

From customer acquisition and retention to intelligent, commercially accountable customer operations.

A focused executive Sprint for MNO, MVNO and eSIM leaders exploring how AI can improve customer acquisition, conversion, retention, lifetime value and customer-function productivity.

Across two 75-minute sessions, examine where AI can improve commercial decisions, how customer workflows could be redesigned, which technology approaches are realistic, and what evidence management needs before committing investment.

Apply to join the founding cohort
  • Europe & MENA
  • By application
  • Recommended cohort 18–24 executives
  • No participation fee for the inaugural cohort

Leave with a better-defined commercial decision.

By the end of the Sprint, you will have identified one priority customer-growth opportunity, examined its potential economic value, considered the workflow and capabilities it would require, and clarified the evidence needed before investment.

Your Operator AI Decision Brief remains private to your organisation.

Develop your private Operator AI Decision Brief, identifying:

  • 01The customer economics that matter most.
  • 02A high-value decision or workflow worth redesigning.
  • 03The potential commercial value mechanism.
  • 04The evidence and capabilities required.
  • 05The next practical management decision.

Four areas of focus.

Customer acquisition

Acquisition efficiency, conversion, onboarding, activation and channel performance—judged by customer quality and lifetime value, not subscriber volume alone.

Retention

Distinguishing avoidable churn from uneconomic retention—or, for travel-eSIM businesses, earning repeat purchase—and intervening only where the economics justify action.

Customer value management

Next-best-action, offer relevance and customer lifetime value—measured by incremental contribution rather than campaign volume or model accuracy.

The AI-native customer operating model

How customer decisions, workflows, decision rights, data and controls change when AI is embedded in the customer function—with commercial accountability intact.

Different customer economics.

Recurring-subscription MVNOs

Value builds over an ongoing relationship: acquisition, retention, churn and lifetime contribution.

Travel-eSIM providers

Value is earned purchase by purchase: acquisition, activation, repeat purchase and contribution per customer.

The same six-part Decision Brief applies to either model; the value mechanism and evidence differ.

Too many possibilities. Too little commercial prioritisation.

AI use cases are multiplying faster than most management teams can investigate them.

The challenge is not generating another opportunity list.

It is deciding which customer-growth opportunities deserve attention, what evidence should be demanded, what has to change operationally and where measurable value could come from.

The Sprint provides a practical framework for making those distinctions.

What you will do

Opening Executive Session · 75 minutes

Where AI is changing customer economics

Examine AI opportunities across customer acquisition, conversion, retention, customer value management and customer-function productivity. Use attributable operator evidence and a practical management framework to distinguish an interesting technology demonstration from an opportunity worth investigating. Choose one relevant customer-growth problem or opportunity for private consideration.

Between sessions · approximately 30–45 minutes

Complete your private Operator AI Decision Brief

Apply the Council's framework inside your own business. Your completed brief stays with you. It is not submitted to the Council or shared with other operators.

Closing Executive Session · 75 minutes

From opportunity to management decision

Compare potential value with feasibility. Examine how the customer workflow and operating model would need to change. Challenge the evidence. Identify the smallest sensible next decision.

Operator AI Decision BriefIllustrative specimen · fictional · non-confidential
  1. 01Problem

Avoidable early-life churn is reducing the economics of newly acquired SIM-only customers.

  2. 02Value Mechanism

Retain incremental contribution by identifying customers most likely to leave and intervening only where retention economics justify action.

  3. 03Evidence

Establish cohort churn baseline, contribution per retained customer, treatment/control uplift and intervention cost. Do not rely on propensity accuracy alone.

  4. 04Workflow

Current: broad retention campaigns. Future hypothesis: risk signal → economic eligibility → next-best action → controlled intervention → measured incremental outcome.

  5. 05Readiness

AMBER — customer and usage data available; treatment measurement exists; offer economics and operational ownership require validation.

  6. 06Next Decision

Authorise a narrowly scoped validation using one customer cohort before considering wider implementation.

For MVNO leaders — four commercial lenses

Wholesale margin

Detect margin leakage and understand how customer behaviour interacts with host-network economics.

Churn & CVM

Improve retained contribution, not simply campaign volume or prediction accuracy.

Acquisition economics

Examine CAC, conversion, activation and lifetime-value quality rather than subscriber growth alone.

Cost-to-serve

Identify where automation can reduce service effort while preserving resolution quality and customer trust.

Who should apply
